The Brief
Clearmark needed a complete management system that covered the full breadth of their work — WHS, Quality and Environmental — and was strong enough to support an independent exemplar audit to ISO 45001 as part of their licensing pathway.
The system had to genuinely reflect what they do on the ground: licensed asbestos removal, new home builds, plumbing, bathroom renovations and septic installations. The same level of rigour you'd expect from a full ISO implementation — built around their licensing pathway rather than a third-party ISO certificate.

The system is built around how they actually operate: one IMS manual, an asbestos removal control plan, SWMS, site inductions, quality procedures and environmental controls — all aligned to the licensing requirements they were pursuing and sized for a mixed-trade operation rather than a corporate compliance team.
About exemplar certification
An exemplar certification is an independent audit of a management system against ISO-style requirements, typically used to support licensing or pre-qualification — for example, asbestos removal or demolition licences. In Clearmark's case, the exemplar audit was specifically against ISO 45001 (the WHS component of the integrated management system). The system we build and the implementation work are the same as for a full ISO certification; the difference is the audit pathway. Exemplar certification is not third-party ISO certification by a JAS-ANZ accredited certification body.
